Pennsylvania School for Global Entrepreneurship
Lehigh University Pennsylvania School for Global Entrepreneurship (a former Governor's School) brings Pennsylvania students together with international students from all regions of the world for a 5-week residential learning experience from June 27, 2010 to July 31, 2010. The program is open to current juniors and sophomores. It includes core and elective courses, entrepreneurial exchanges and excursions, team projects with a partner enterprise and a variety of other interactive experiences and activities. Because of State budgeting, there is a fee for this program. Applications are available in the Career Room or online at www.iacocca-lehigh.org.
Health Career Scholars Academy
The University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy (a former Governor's School) introduces students to the world of health care emphasizing issues of primary care, prevention, public health, human growth and development and areas of practice. This is a 28-day residential program from June 27, 2010 to July 24, 2010. It is open to all current Pennsylvania juniors. Because of State budgeting, there is a fee for this program. Applications are available in the Career Room or online at www.hcsa.pitt.edu. The postmark deadline is Feb. 5th, 2010.
Rent-A-Kid Program
The York County Area Agency on Aging is recruiting students to participate in the Rent-A-Kid Program coordinated by the Agency. Rent-A-Kid is a referral service for teenagers who wish to do work for senior citizens. This program promotes a wonderful intergenerational relationship as well as providing a service to the senior citizens and economic benefits to the student. Applications are available in the Career Room.
Y Achievers
Y Achievers is a county-wide college readiness program that prepares first-generation college students and minority students for success through career exploration, test prep, and mentoring sponsored by the York YMCA.
