York Catholic will be joining the nationwide celebration of Catholic Schools January 25-February 1. Students will honor service to the community, faculty/staff, and religious life throughout the week with a variety of activities including reading to children at partner schools, delivering gift bags and thank you notes to our parishes, and helping to serve breakfast at the Ronald McDonald House.
To end our Catholic Schools Week celebration, we invite all students to show their Irish Pride on Friday, January 31, by participating in a Green and Gold dress down day!

Family Mass & Battle of the Buildings
To kick off Catholic Schools Week, join us at our York Deanery Celebration Mass on Saturday, January 25, at 4 PM in the YC auditorium. Attendance at this Mass fulfills your Sunday obligation. Following Mass, we will move to the gym for the 6th Annual Battle of the Buildings at 6 PM. This is a friendly inter-partner school competition of “minute-to-win-it” type games in the gym. The teachers are the competitors and the families are the fans. The York Catholic Music Association will have food and beverages available for purchase.
As part of the Deanery Partners Service Project, each school is collecting non-perishable food items for local food banks at their school location. The top three schools with the most donations will earn points for their team! Our schools are supporting the following food banks: Holy Trinity – Emmanuel’s Closet, St. John the Baptist – Southern York County Pantry, St. Joseph – Our Daily Bread, St. Rose of Lima – Catholic Harvest Food Pantry, York Catholic – York Food Bank.

Proceeds from this dance will benefit our Mini-THON fundraising “For the Kids” at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Students from other schools are not permitted to attend. All students must adhere to the casual dress code found on pages 15-16 of the student handbook/agenda. Tickets are on sale January 13-17 during lunch periods at $8 per person.
