The Handbook states, “All Boys may wear uniform khaki shorts only (for the First and Fourth Quarter). Calf length socks in black, brown, tan, white or navy, with minimal emblem are permitted.” Please see below for the guidelines and images of permissible and prohibited socks. When shopping for socks, as with shoes, feel free to send an image to Mr. Brad Hayek, Dean of Students, at firstname.lastname@example.org for approval.
The socks below, while athletic in nature, provide a comfortable sock that avoids a dominant emblem/logo or design. The samples below are from Under Armour and Nike; however, we do not promote a single brand over another.
The socks below, though similar in material and fit to those permitted, bear a much bolder logo and/or design. These socks are perfectly fit for other areas of school life (when worn with long uniform pants or for gym class); however, if wearing uniform shorts, these examples below are a violation of the uniform policy which will lead to discipline.
The design on the back is acceptable, but the lace-bite guard on the front of the sock will extend above the tongue of a normal shoe and is not acceptable.
The logo and emblem on the back is too bold and is a violation of policy.
The logo and emblem are too bold making this sock a violation of policy.
A popular sock with our boys in the winter when wearing long pants, this sock is not permitted when wearing shorts because the design from the heel to the calf is too bold and is a violation of policy.
