Student Life

A culture of collaboration, kindness and self-expression is at the heart of the YC student experience. At York Catholic, we believe growing as a learner and leader also means discovering who you are outside the classroom. Through a range of engaging extracurricular activities, YC students can explore their interests, uncover their passions and grow meaningful connections with their friends and classmates who share their interests. Active participation across a range of middle school clubs and activities and high school activities also allows students to cultivate critical time management skills as they learn to balance academics with their extracurricular and personal interests.

Students can choose from over 60 middle school offerings and high school clubs and activities where they can explore their interests, enjoy time with friends and grow valuable collaboration and leadership skills. At YC, clubs and student activities are well-suited for students with experience as well as those who want to try something new, and many students take the opportunity to participate in multiple offerings. Our YC athletes are active in our school musicals, our National Honor Society members participate in our ping pong and ski clubs and our art club members also enjoy the opportunity to be leaders in our campus ministry.

At YC, arts are celebrated as a critical part of the learning experience. YC’s fine arts program offers a full range of opportunities from enriching classroom experiences and performance groups to clubs and ensembles for all levels. From visual arts to theater to music, students have the opportunity to expand and explore their creative interests.

In addition to the many on-site student clubs and activities, YC students also can be active in the community. York Catholic’s community engagement programs are an important part of helping students understand the importance of service to others and community.

Through a celebration of Christian values that encourage open and expressive exploration of faith, YC students from all different faith backgrounds become active and engaged members of our spiritual life community. At YC, creating an engaged community of students that are connected is at the heart of our approach to student life. Our students make us great, and it is our honor to give them a place where they can grow as individuals and collaborators.

Our new student life center is the hub of student activity on campus and provides a wide range of spaces for our students to connect and interact as they meet for clubs, arts programs, athletics and more.
