Re-Enrollment
Welcome Back for 2026-27!
Thank you for your support this school year as we continue to offer the finest Catholic education in the area. As we transition to planning for 2026-2027, we ask that you please read the following thoroughly as it contains important information regarding Re-enrollment, Family Customized Tuition, and Course Selection for the 2026-2027 school year.
Part I: Re-enrollment and Family Customized Tuition
You will notice that we are making some changes to our Re-enrollment and Tuition Rate procedures. After reading below, if you are interested in hearing more about this process, we invite you to attend our informational meeting on Thursday, February 12, from 6-7 PM. You may participate in person or via Zoom. Please register at the link below and indicate your preferred participation method. Also, links to important documents are included at the end of this letter.
Re-enrollment
We have streamlined the re-enrollment process this year into one simple step. To re-enroll your child for the 2026-27 school year, all you need to do is pay the re-enrollment fee of $300 in your Simple Tuition Solutions (STS) account. Please watch your inbox next week for an email from STS containing your re-enrollment bill. Re-enrollment fees that become 30 days past due will incur a $50 late fee. Students will not be considered re-enrolled until the re-enrollment fee is paid.
Family Customized Tuition
In recent years, the state of Pennsylvania has provided additional funding opportunities to non-public schools. In order to qualify for those funding opportunities, York Catholic has restructured the process for determining YC Discounts and Family Customized Tuition assistance for the 2026-2027 school year.
We will be aligning our initial Tuition rate for the 2026-2027 school year with the Actual Cost to Educate a student, which is $14,500.
To receive qualifying YC Tuition Discount(s) and potential Family Customized Tuition assistance, that is more aligned with previous years, York Catholic is presenting the following 3 options:
- Fill out the Financial Questionnaire in your Simple Tuition Solutions (STS) portal no later than March 1, 2026.
- This must be completed on a PC or laptop; this cannot be completed using a mobile device.
- School Code is 20623.
- Be sure you are using the 2026-27 school year.
- If you require assistance in completing this application, you may make an appointment for February 17 with our Business Office Manager, Ms. Heather Dougherty. Please contact her at hdougherty@yorkcatholic.org or 717-846-8871 x1315.
- Participate in the Tax Credit program (more information below).
- Do both option 1 and option 2.
Participation in one of the three options above will automatically qualify families for the following reduced tuition discounts. Additional Family Customized Tuition assistance funding may be provided based on the Financial Questionnaire.
YC Tuition Discounts and Maximum Rate
| YC Tuition Discount off of $14,500 | Maximum Tuition Rate | |
|---|---|---|
| YC Subsidy | -$4,850 | $9,650 |
| High School Participating Parishioner | -$1,000 | $8,650 |
| Middle School | -$500 | $9,150 |
| Middle School Participating Parishioner | -$1,000 | $8,150 |
In addition to the above published discounts, we no longer will be charging a Technology fee or a Capital Improvement fee. Also, Chromebook insurance will be offered to everyone at no additional charge.
Tax Credit Program
The State of Pennsylvania allows individuals to take advantage of Tax Credits (just as businesses can) whereby you have the opportunity to redirect 90% of your personal state income taxes to York Catholic Middle & High School.
The Tax Credit Program (sometimes referred to as a Special Purpose Entity or SPE) is based on tax liability, not income, therefore each taxpayer’s situation will differ. Participants must be PA residents where at least one spouse is employed or has an ownership interest in a PA for-profit business. An individual or couple filing jointly must have a state tax liability of $1,000 or more to participate. To see if you qualify for 2026, you can find your PA tax liability on Form PA-40 Line 12 of your 2025 tax return.
100% of participant contributions are distributed to the school. You have to pay these taxes regardless, so why not have a say in how your taxes are allocated? Additionally, you will receive at least a 10% personal deduction on your federal taxes. The money you redirect to York Catholic is for educational purposes, specifically tuition assistance.
For additional information, watch the video found here and/or attend an informational meeting on February 23 from 6-7 PM. You may attend this meeting from home via zoom or join us at YC where we will stream the Zoom. You may also contact our Advancement Director, Laura Burkey, who is readily available to help make your participation easy. You can reach out to her at lburkey@yorkcatholic.org or 717-846-8871 x1323.

Part II: Course Selection
Parent Information
Please take the time to review our course catalog and grade-level course registration materials for next school year. These resources will assist as you engage in conversation with your student at home regarding their schedule options for next school year. Both resources are linked below.
We are excited to continue our unique course offerings, including AP and College in the Classroom courses, our FLEX program at York County School of Technology, and our VHS courses online. In addition, please notice the positive changes we have made to our Art program.
After reviewing the information this week online, please feel free to contact Mrs. Kathy Hand, Principal, with any further questions you may have. She can be reached at khand@yorkcatholic.org or 717-846-8871 x1313.
Student Process
Middle School
Principal Hand and the Guidance Department visited Middle School classrooms earlier this week regarding the course selection process for next school year. Middle School students will bring home a list of courses for the 2026-2027 school year to share with you. As part of the pre-course selection process, please review that list with them, provide the necessary parent signature, and have your student return the course selection form to their homeroom teacher by February 13. Middle School students will register for courses online during Theology class in mid-February.
High School
High School students should be talking with their subject level teachers regarding appropriate course selection and level (CP, H, or AP) for 2026-2027. Students currently in grades 9 through 11 have access to the online course selection portal in Focus. This will remain open until February 20. During this time, students should select their courses, and appropriate levels based on teacher recommendations, for next school year. Students will be provided with printed course selection summary forms on March 6; forms with a parent’s signature are due back to homeroom teachers by March 13.
